Dr. Brown is an assistant professor of sociology and the director of the Center on Health & Society.
He is also a senior fellow at the Center for the Study of Aging and Human Development. Brown’s research examines how and why ethnoracial stratification and other axes of inequality combine to shape wealth and health over time.
This research interest is expressed in three foci:
1) investigating the intersecting consequences of social factors on wealth and health,
2) examining whether inequalities increase or decrease over the life course, and
3) determining the extent to which various structural and psychosocial mechanisms underlie social inequalities in wealth and health.
